Anthony Chin T W artist talk

Join artist-in-residence Anthony Chin T W as he discusses his practice, previous work and how he plans to situate his research in London during his residency.

Chin (b. 1969, Singapore) works with site-specific engagements with the historical, social and architectural stratifications of a place. His research-driven conceptual practice grows out of interactions with historical, social and architectural contexts. Through the articulation of ordinary materials into installations and art objects, the artist attempts to unravel the latent power structures and complex geopolitical narratives that underpin the colonial past and the post-colonial present.

Chin is the third recipient of the LOEWE FOUNDATION / Studio Voltaire Award international artist’s residency, and will be based at Studio Voltaire from October 2026 to September 2027. Launched in 2021, the Award celebrates talent, creative thinking and individuality within contemporary art practice.
