Sophie Seita Artist Talk

8 April 2025

Artist-in-residence Sophie Seita will present a concluding talk reflecting on their two-month residency at Studio Voltaire.

London-based artist and researcher Sophie Seita works with language as a sensuous, sculptural and sonic material. Translating and moulding language, they produce live performances, publications, objects, scores, sound pieces, drawings and textiles.

During their residency, Seita is exploring Studio Voltaire’s archive of performance commissions as part of their ongoing project, Touching Language, which experiments with writing for, about, or as performance.

Seita will discuss their research, workshops, and the development of new works – whether in progress, completed, or still evolving – all in response to their findings.

Supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council CHASE Cohort Development Fund and the Art Department at Goldsmiths, University of London
