Transmuted: Online Workshop

Somatic Consent with Ron Eis

26 March 2026

Somatic consent educator Ron Eis hosts an online workshop on consent, focusing on relationships and (re)connecting your body, mind and spirit.

This event is part of a series of online sessions that explore Trans histories and gender through a cultural heritage lens. Topics include reproductive healthcare and surrogacy, somatic consent, relationships, as well as conflict and repair.

This introductory session aims to guide participants towards developing more holistic and nuanced frameworks for consent.

The session will explore:

  • How to better understand our bodies and recognise the messages they convey.
  • Boundaries, shared responsibility, conflict and repair whilst exploring how internalised behaviours can influence our practice of consent.
  • The FRIES consent model, which stands for Freely given, Reversible, Informed, Enthusiastic and Specific.
  • Methods for reconnecting our body, mind and spirit, whilst exploring our needs, desires and boundaries with curiosity and without judgment, moving beyond traditional binary perspectives.

This workshop has a queered, anti-capitalist and anti-punitive perspective grounded in the understanding that our environment and the structures of our society affect everyone differently.

This digital event is hosted in collaboration with Transmuted, a volunteer-led Trans organisation based in the North of England, dedicated to uplifting underrepresented voices within Trans spaces and amplifying perspectives that are often silenced by society.

This series centres Trans people and experiences. Please read Transmuted’s Safer Spaces Guidelines before attending an event in this series.

  1. Ron Eis (they/them) is a somatic consent educator, workshop facilitator, polyamorous being and writer. Eis’ work is rooted in the belief and experience that colonial, capitalist, cis-heteropatriarchal structures have severed our connection to body-mind-spirit, and that consent – when reimagined beyond permission – can be a powerful path to repair. Eis holds a BA in International Relations and an MSc in Political Thought from the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS), where they focused on decolonial thought, transfeminist, queer and crip theory. They view consent as a relational practice, collective labour, a political orientation and a tool for collective liberation.
