Open Studio: Nicolás Said

Artist-in-residence Nicolás Said will host an Open Studio to showcase his latest drawings, developed over his ten-week residency at Studio Voltaire.

Said’s ongoing project during his residency explores how people have responded to the concept of the Apocalypse, both historically and in contemporary times, particularly how it has shifted from a mythical idea to a more realistic, science-driven concern. Drawing inspiration from artists like Dürer and William Blake, he experiments with formats such as polyptychs and non-flat surfaces to bring new dimensions to these apocalyptic themes.

In addition to his recent work, Said will present previous pieces, including his decks of oracle card drawings, triptychs, and other figurative works.

Opening times:

Saturday 7 December 2024: 10 am–5 pm
Sunday 8 December 2024: 10 am–5 pm

This residency is generously supported by Erica Roberts.
