Support our Civic and Learning Programmes
Our extensive Civic and Learning programmes focus on well-being, skills development, commissioning opportunities and long-standing, much-valued local and national partnerships.
Working closely with local families, schools and teachers, young people and community groups, our Learning Programme offers artist-led workshops, skills development sessions, teacher training, screenings, talks, tours and digital resources. Focusing on wellbeing and joy, and developed in direct response to the chronic defunding of arts provision, our Learning Programme works to broaden access to creative opportunities and overcome barriers that people experience in formal education settings.
Our deep-rooted, long-term and ambitious Civic Programmes have collaboration and participation at their core. Working closely with community partners, this interlinked programme of artist-led collaborative projects, commissions, exhibitions, creative research, residencies, workshops, support groups, social activities and events supports thousands of participants, London-wide and nationally. We have a unique track record of commissioning artists in civic programming, including Exodus Crooks, Barby Asante, Sunil Gupta, Monster Chetwynd, Raju Rage, Ed Webb-Ingell, They Are Here, Rehana Zaman and Jay Bernard.
Civic and Learning Supporters are engaged in our programme year-round and are invited to meet and develop relationships with the programme artists as well as enjoying access to our unparalleled programme of Supporters’ Events, including artists’ studio visits, private curator-led tours of collections and exhibitions, previews and our major Annual Supporters' Dinner.
We welcome the support of those who wish to become involved in a particular project, or who would like to make a long-term commitment.
