Workspace is provided on an ongoing basis and at a rate of £24.20 per square foot per year, including all utilities (underfloor heating, lights, power, waste collection, wi-fi, water) and administrative costs. How to Apply
We are looking for practitioners who will benefit from having a sustained affordable workspace and are interested in actively contributing to the onsite artistic community, as well as Studio Voltaire and our wider community. We aim to establish a group of artists working within contemporary art practice who collectively constitute a wide range of interests, experiences and modes of working, representing a diversity of practices and perspectives.
Aligning with our organisational aims, we strongly encourage and will prioritise applications from people who are currently underrepresented in the arts. We welcome and will prioritise applications from artists of African or Caribbean heritage, artists of East Asian, South Asian and South East Asian heritage, artists of Latin American heritage and artists belonging to other groups that experience racism (including people of Romany, Irish Traveller, Jewish, Central Asian and West Asian heritage), and artists who identify as LGBTQIA+, d/Deaf, neurodivergent, disabled, chronically ill and artists who have faced barriers to practice due to their socio-economic background or financial precarity.
Current Vacancies
All our studios are currently occupied, but we are accepting applications for studio holders on a rolling basis.
Selection Process
All applications go through a competitive selection process that is overseen by our curatorial team. If your application is successful, we will add you to our studio waiting list.
If your application is accepted, you will receive notice that you have been added to our studio waiting list. If you do not hear from us within four weeks, unfortunately, your application has not been successful.
Our waiting list is not run on a first-come, first-served basis; applications are prioritised based on the strength of your application and level of need.
Please note that as all of our studios are currently occupied indefinitely, we cannot guarantee how long it will be before a space becomes available.
