About Shirin Fathi

Shirin Fathi is a multi-disciplinary artist and curator whose practice investigates cultural shifts in gender identity through photography, sculpture, installation, and performance. Utilising her own body as a site of transformation, she employs cosmetics, prosthetics, and role-play to challenge dominant narratives and embody marginalised or ambiguous identities.

Her work has been featured in The Guardian, BBC, The Observer, The i, and the British Journal of Photography. She has exhibited internationally at Gallery 44 in Toronto, Khoj International Artists’ Association in Delhi, the Wellcome Collection in London as part of The Cult of Beauty exhibition, and at the Victoria and Albert Museum’s ‘Friday Late’ programme.
